There's really nothing new about lucrative operations.. but now it seems that the @!$%# hits the fan..
Guardian Unlimited :
"One patient, Giovanni Rizzitano, 64, told the Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera how he escaped from the hospital. After going in to have a minor bladder problem treated he woke up on the operating table to find half his lung had been removed. "I asked them what on earth they had done, and they said they wanted to take out my thyroid next. So I fled," Rizzitano said." --
This is kinda of hilarious. It seems one of the episodes of the X-files..
Eleven other doctors and the owner of the clinic were placed under house arrest for their role in performing superfluous and lucrative operations, including on terminally ill patients. Among the operations performed was the removal of a lung which allegedly caused a patient to die.
They were accused of carrying out 91 unnecessary operations since 2005. They face life imprisonment if convicted.. are we talking about Dr. Josef Mengele, and his experiments? Yes?
No living being deserves to be treated this way...
